Action for Kids: Reach out to an educator
Join Revolutionary Humans 25 Actions of Kindness.
Given the disproportionate amount of women in early-childhood education (and how under-appreciated and under-paid they are for it), this would be a great time to email an educator who has been struggling to meet the impossible demands of pandemic education to let them know you see how hard they’re working – and how much you appreciate it.
Revolutionary Humans is Black-owned, woman-owned, single-mom-owned & founded by educator Bellamy Shoffner. Supporting her work is a great way to say thank-you.

Tell the Biden Administration Not to Bring Back Trump’s Asylum Ban
Deadline: March 27th
via Families Belong Together and many others
The Biden administration is taking comments from the public about its plan to bring back an asylum ban – a new version of one of the most anti-asylum seeker policies of the Trump era.
Sign the petition to Congress: Push back against state attempts to ban Black history
DUE FEBRUARY 2023
via Hip Hop Caucus
Congress must renew efforts to pass legislation that protects teachers and students who want to teach and learn African American history and the impact of that history on the institutions that currently govern this country. In 2021, Rep. Jamaal Bowman introduced the African American History Act. The bill would invest $10 million over 5 years in the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) with the goal of supporting African American history education programs that are voluntarily available for students, parents, and educators.
This also appears more long-term, although there’s a lot of noise about it right now because of the AP controversy.
Help Stop Massive New Oil Drilling Project in the Arctic #StopWillow
via Natural Resources Defense Council (and several others):
The Biden Administration approved a massive new oil drilling project in Alaska’s Western Arctic that would generate an astounding 277 million metric tons of climate-busting carbon pollution. –
This one is time-sensitive – tell Biden to reverse his decision immediately.
Demand Justice For Keenan Anderson
via Moms Rising:
Keenan Anderson was in a minor traffic accident and flagged down police for help. Instead, he was chased, held face down on the asphalt, and repeatedly tased by the Los Angeles Police Department. He went into cardiac arrest and later died at a local hospital. This petition calls for a number of reforms to the Los Angeles Police Department, including removing their police chief and taking police out of schools and traffic stops.
This is sadly, probably a long-term action.
Tell Congress to Pass the People’s Response Act Now!
via Moms Rising:
The People’s Response Act is legislation that emphasizes an inclusive, holistic, and health-centered approach to public safety by creating a public safety division within the Department of Human Health and Services as well as other resources to move away from a carceral justice system.
This seems to be a long-term thing, so check in again next month.
Contribute to the Atlanta Solidarity Fund
via Sunrise Movement:
Civil rights and climate justice protesters in Atlanta are fighting “Cop City,” which will be the largest police compound in the U.S. To build it, the city is cutting down Weelaunee Forest, one of the largest areas of forest in the city.
One of the protesters, Manuel “Tortuguita” Páez Terán, was shot and killed while protesting by the police. The police arrested other protesters and charged them with domestic terrorism. The Atlanta Solidarity Fund bails them out and helps them get access to lawyers.
