Revolutionary Humans Kindness as an action get creative

Action for Kids: Get Creative

Join Revolutionary Humans 25 Actions of Kindness.

“One of the RevHum foundations is that you cannot be fully empathetic and kind to others if you aren’t kind to yourself. We uphold self-empowerment in part as a method of becoming more aware overall.

Today’s action is a personal one, to do alone or with your family. Create art that represents the best parts of you! Be kind to yourself- grab a piece of paper and have fun using words, doodles, our Self-Affirming Collage Set, paint, markers, etc. to tell the story of what makes you, you!

Your project can be a quick doodle or more in-depth. It’s up to you! (You don’t have to consider yourself artistic to make art- give it a try!)

If you’re doing this project with someone. Encourage them by sharing what you love about them! Have fun with this one!”

Comment on Race & Ethnicity Statistics Proposal

Deadline: April 27, 2023
Submit a comment on the regulations.gov website
Template message:

I’m writing in support of the proposed guidelines to:
1. Collect race and ethnicity data with one combined question, rather than separate questions asking for race and ethnicity.
2.  Add “Middle Eastern or North African (MENA)” as a new racial category and edit the “white” category to remove MENA from its definition, and –
3. Redefine “Hispanic” as a racial category.

Getting clear data about race and ethnicity and how these identifiers correlate with other data will give us a clearer analysis of who is being under-represented and marginalized in the US.

Thanks to our Quick-Action Coordinator, Shannon Brescher Shea, author of Growing Sustainable Together, for organizing the actions below for us!

Support Healthier School Meals

MomsRising.org

The Biden-Harris Administration is currently accepting public comments on a proposed rule to make nutrition standards for school meals healthier.

The proposed standards, which align with the 2020-2025 Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA), will lead to healthier food for the many schoolchildren who rely on school meals to learn and grow.

Urge Congress: Permanently expand SNAP benefits!

via Feeding America

At least $2.5 billion in monthly emergency food benefits are expiring nationwide, leaving millions of people facing a sudden financial cliff. Enrolled families with children will lose an average of $223 in monthly Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, and households with seniors will lose an average of $168.

Via Moms Clean Air Force

The EPA has quietly inserted waste plastic into its renewable fuel standard program, which was designed to fast-track the production of renewable fuels from plants, algae, and other biological sources.

We need to urge EPA to stop including waste plastic as a fuel source in this biofuels program.

Tell U.S. pharmacies: Provide abortion care to your customers!

via Ultraviolet

Walgreens has said that its pharmacies will not dispense or mail abortion prescriptions in states where Republican attorneys general have threatened lawsuits, including states where abortion is legal. Tell U.S. pharmacies to not give in to GOP bullying and protect their customers’ right to abortion care!

Georgians: Protect Healthcare for Trans Youth

via ASAN

We need your help! Send a message to Governor Brian Kemp, RIGHT NOW, and urge him to veto this attack on transgender youth, their families, and the medical community as a whole!

Senate Bill (SB) 140, a bill to restrict access to surgical procedures and hormone therapy related to gender-affirming care for transgender minors, has passed through the House and the Senate. It now heads to the Governor’s desk for either his signature, veto, or inaction until it automatically becomes law. The bill cites the fact that transgender people are more likely to be autistic or to have other developmental disabilities as a reason to ban gender-affirming care for all minors, effectively weaponizing stigma and bias against Autistic youth to target trans kids.

North Dakota: Stop Police From Beating Indigenous Youth

via NDN

“My child was picked up and slammed face-first onto the concrete by a school officer on what was supposed to be a fun night. Despite the fact that there was a crowd of people yelling at the officer to stop, and despite the fact that the officer’s violence left my child with a concussion, who is now being charged with ‘assaulting’ the officer.”

Take Action Now: Demand removal of onsite security and police from Rapid City, South Dakota Schools.

Tell the Biden Administration Not to Bring Back Trump’s Asylum Ban
